Chance Encounters

Made for the Game Maker's Toolkit 2023 game jam!

Influence the outcomes of battles for our two heroes.  In this game, you control the likelihood that a character's actions will succeed.  In other words, you play as the random number generator for the characters.  Your power to influence the odds is limited, however.  How long will the two heroes survive in the dungeon of doom?  Only you can decide.

At the start, you will be given points to spend to improve the odds that a  particular action succeeds or fails.  Every turn, players, and monsters will choose which action they will take, and it is your job to allocate your given influence points to improve or worsen the chances of success.  Improving the odds of a beneficial action will cost points while improving the odds of a detrimental action will reward you with more points to spend later on.
